In 2024, the cabinet was dissolved after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 5 August in the wake of a student uprising. Due to which the law and order situation of the whole country continues to deteriorate. Due to the lack of law and order forces in the country, the state and social infrastructure have collapsed. Looting, fighting, and anarchy spread in the neighborhood. No one is obeying anyone's control; theft-robbery, robbery-robbery—the crime trend of juvenile gangs has increased to an extreme level, and public life is under threat. In such a fragile state situation, a few youths of the New Town residential area under the Demra Police Station of the capital Dhaka have decided to protect the overall law and order situation in the area, remove all kinds of discrimination from robbery-extortion and party influence, and establish peace and order in the New Town area with the aim of building a new society. "New Town Society" was established on August 7, 2024, at Tasmia Garden in Badsha Miah Road, and Mr. Md. Abu Zafar was assigned to quickly create a Whatsup group to all the localities category-professions are assigned the responsibility of connecting people to the groups.
Created a Whatsup Group:
According to the previous day's decision, On August 08, 2024 a whatsup group was created by Mr. Abu Jafar to connect the people of Newtown who are staying at this area in the present time as the society member.
Who supported at First:
The whatsapp group was first supported by Dr. Delwar Jahan Imran who is working as a Homeopathic physician in the newtown area. Mr. Md. Rakib Hasan presented the first opinion in the newly created whats up group at morning on August 08, 2024.
Also Principal Mr. Baijid Hasan expressed his first opinion by urging everyone to unite and make it a peaceful residential area in city of Dhaka.
Convening Committee:
On 23rd August 2024 Md. Abu Zafar called a general meeting to the dignitaries of the area at Newtown Central Mosque for the purpose of forming a convening committee to give full shape to the society. Md. Abu Jafar presented the goals, objectives and programs of the society in that meeting and called everyone to join the society unitedly at that time.
When the demands of a convening committee of various public societies were raised in the meeting, a convening committee of 31 members was formed by making Mr. Neshar Uddin Ahmad as the Convener and Mr. Md. Abu Zafar as the Member Secretary. The term of this convening committee was fixed for the next 3 months and their task is to frame a suitable constitution for the society and to do form a Executive Committee to lead the society.
